Integrating With 3rd Party Scripts via HTTP Post
Posting form Data to a 3rd Party Script
logiforms provides numerous options for 3rd party integration. The HTTP POST option, found under Post Processing Actions, can be used to post form submission data in real time to a 3rd party. The HTTP POST will send the selected form fields to the URL you enter after each form submission. The result from the script you post will also be returned and can be used in your autoresponders and notifications to show the correct response or redirect to a URL based on the result from the 3rd party script. Example of integration include, posting data to salesforce.com, integration with payment gateways, and sending a copy of the data to a script on your server.
Setting it up
- Navigate to your Component Menu and select the form you want to add HTTP POST Processing to
- The form loads in the component details window, click the Post Processing Actions link shown below
- Next, click the link to create a new Post Processing Action
- Then, scroll down and select HTTP Post Processing
- The final step is to configure the profile. Give it a name and enter the url of the script your are posting to. Finally, configure the fields you want to send and rename any of the fields. This allows you to send your field "first_name" as "fname". This is useful if the receiving script expects a field named 'fname'.
Save the profile and its ready to post data.
One you set up a post processing profile, a new hidden field will be added to your form. The field is named "httppost_result" and will contain the result of the post from the receiving script.
You can use this value in your autoresponders and notifications to base actions on the result of the post. For example, if your were posting data to a payment gateway, you could use the result to show a success or a failure page. For testing purposes we recommend you set up the thank you page and include the [httppost_result] wildcard so you can check if the post is working correctly.
This data is also recorded in your submission bin, so you can view history of each POST and its result.
In order to use this trick, you need to have at least one finishLater field on your form.

"The form builder is actually quite ingenious in its simplicity.
The flexibility it affords is almost unexpected because it's so easy to use.
We were able to quickly create about a half dozen forms and get them online and working with complete validation,
email, and data storage in the same amount of time it would have taken to create just the HTML for only one of the forms."

"This export feature is crucial for us. We used it extensively during
the 4,000 participant VBS this past summer, to create special
reports, sort and organize data, etc. We also will use it
extensively for our online donations, to create giving "reports" on a
bi-monthly basis."
