Limiting the Size of Uploaded Fields And File Types
Limiting the Size of Uploaded Fields And File Types
The upload field allows you to accept file uploads on your form. The field settings window for this field includes several options for restricting the filesize of the uploaded file and also limiting the size of the file being uploaded. The screen shot below shows the settings window for the upload field. Here you can configure the size and accepted file types.
Tip: When accepting images, you should select all of the image/* options in the accept list.
It is important to note that the file type and file size can not be accurately determined on the client side and need to be sent to the server first. This means that the submission will be recorded and no error messages will be displayed to the user if the file type is not accepted or the file size is over the limit. In the case that the upload fails due to these rules, the file will not be uploaded and the field value will be set to a message describing the failure. You can test for these messages in your autoresponders/notifications to show a message to the user if required. The field values are shown in the table below:
| Condition | Field Value | | File type is not accepted | File Type Not Accepted | | File Size Limit Exceeded | File Size Limit Exceeded | | Account Capacity Reached | ErrorAccountCapacity |

"We processed over 25,000 form submissions with logiforms and it worked absolutely brilliantly.
I would recommend logiforms to anyone who needs a truy cost effective online data capture tool."

"I use the autoresponse to send a slightly different "thank you" message to submissions, depending on their answers.
This is great, makes it really seem as though it is a personal response!"
