Medical Practice Uses Logiforms to Increase Patient Communication - Securely
Edinger Medical Group in Southern California was facing a real problem - their phone system was not up to the task of meeting patient demand. A busy practice, with thousands of patients and 16
Physicians and Nurse Practitioners, their studies found that many of their calls were occurring between 8:30 am and 11:00 am, and again from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Although they have several employees answering phones, the waiting time, and complaints, from patients were increasing.
Something had to be done. Edinger had several choices:
Hire more people to handle the workload
Upgrade the phone system to a more automated system with messaging
Think of something new.
They opted for something new - secure Logiforms messaging.
Working with Tanis Campbell of Dot Wizards, a Southern California web design and development company, the doctors at Edinger Medical defined their requirements.
Their objectives were to increase overall patient satisfaction and access by providing secure messaging. The messages had to be secure in order to be compliant with the US HIPPA regulations.
HIPPA is Health Information Portability and Accountability Act which was enacted in 1996.

Feedback from patients has been very positive. Instead of having to call in and wait, a patient picks their message type, sends in their secure communication and according to the specified SLA (service level agreement), gets a call back from their practitioner. Because of the sensitivity of medical information, Edinger Medical Group keeps their employees email addresses private - however, the Logiforms secure application allows them to receive structured information and patients appreciate the personal touch of the return phone call.
